Drivers heading through Maryborough’s CBD are set to face weeks of detours and delays.
Next Monday, August 10th sees roadworks commence at the intersection of High and Inkerman Streets, where raised safety platforms and pedestrian crossings will be added to the existing roundabout.
Goldfields Police advises the intersection will be “fully closed” for up to four weeks as crews complete “essential kerb and drainage works” prior to the platforms and crossings being installed.
Those travelling through the town are being told to follow signed detours and traffic management directions, and allow an extra five minutes to their journey.
Businesses along High Street will remain accessible via Nolan Street, though some on-street parking bays will be temporarily unavailable to allow vehicles to safely perform U-turns.
The works are expected to be complete within eight weeks, weather permitting.
