Bendigo Students Say Goodbye to Placement Poverty

Bendigo University students no longer face the threat of placement poverty as, for the first time, they will be paid during placements.

Over 68,000 eligible future teachers, nurses, midwives, and social workers per year will receive $319.50 per week during their clinical placement periods.

Local Federal Member, Lisa Chesters, celebrates the government announcement with La Trobe nursing students.

The paid placement program is only available to students undertaking placements in teaching, nursing, midwifery, and social work.
