Rental affordability continues to decline across the Greater Bendigo region, as the latest Rental Affordability Index names Bendigo as “unaffordable”.
The majority of Bendigo renters are spending between 25 to 30 percent of their income on rent, with thousands waiting for social and affordable housing.
Meanwhile, the report by National Shelter and SGS Economics and Planning found that Daylesford and surrounding areas renters are spending up to 38 percent of their income on rent.

Only three postcodes in the state have rentals considered ‘affordable’, them being Nhill, Numurkah and Kerang.
