The City of Greater Bendigo has appointed Ryan Peterson as the new Youth Mayor to lead the 18 youngsters as part of the youth council.

Lilly Correll and Remus Brasier will join him as joint deputy mayors for the two-year term.
He’s previously told Robbo on The Wake Up Call that there’s a few key reasons for the peak youth representative body.
“Making sure that we’re able to advocate on issues important to young people, be representative of young people, get young people involved in their community and make sure that they are given experiences that can build their skills and connection.”

Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf said she looked forward to working alongside youth council.
“The first four years of the Youth Council have been very successful with Youth Councillors providing input into over 40 City plans, strategies, policies and projects,” he said.
