Flood is Thicker Than Water: Bendigo Spirit Flood-Affected Faithful Offered Up Special Treatment

Echuca, Elmore and Rochester residents will be guests of honour at this weekend’s first Bendigo Spirit home game at Red Energy Arena.
 
The VIP service will include free transport to and from Sunday’s game, providing them with free match entry and hosting them at both a pre-game and post-game function.
 
Bendigo Spirit General Manager of Operations David Ingham said the club is pleased to offer help to the local communities struggling during this time.

“We hope we can entertain the communities from those flood-ravaged towns and give them a day to forget about the struggles of the past few weeks,” he said.
 
He said everyone in the region want to “assist the communities in returning to normal life”.

The day also includes kids’ activities and a chance to meet the Bendigo Spirit team from 4pm – 4:45pm.
 
In addition, some fundraising initiatives will be in place during the match, thanks to support of local businesses and partners, with all funds being donated to the Bendigo Bank flood appeal. 
 
Bendigo Spirit play UC Capitals in their season-opener on Friday 4 November, followed by their opening home game on Sunday against Perth Lynx.
