Victoria’s Future Firewood Supply Under Threat

The future of firewood collection is under threat following the Victorian Government’s decision to shut down the native timber industry and commercial firewood licenses by the end of the year.

Nationals Member for Northern Victoria, Gaelle Broad, tells Parliament that she is very concerned that the amount of available firewood would be drastically reduced.

Broad also asked the Minister for Environment to advise what steps the Government is taking to ensure locals can continue to collect firewood.
