The Bendigo Gem Club is gearing up for its biggest weekend of the year, with the annual fundraising expo kicking off at the Princes of Wales Showground on Friday.

There will be over 20 stallholders selling rocks, minerals, jewellery as well as specialised tools and equipment.
Past president of the Gem Club, Edie May, said after COVID-19 lockdowns, they’re still playing around with a few new details.

“We normally have a September date but we’ve moved to February,” she said.
“It gives the possibility for all of our our grey nomads to go about their business in the winter and come an celebrate with us at the tail end of the summer break.”
She added that there will be activities for the kids, with those under 12 granted free entry.

“People come from all over Australia for this particular Expo,” she said.
