Over $665,000 will go towards upgrades at Bendigo Foodshare’s Community Food Hub, expanding its services to help more local residents needing food relief.
The project will include the installation of new storage and refrigeration facilities, water tanks, solar panels and a commercial kitchen fit-out.
The funding is being delivered under round 1 of the Federal Government’s Growing Regions Program.

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters, says the demand for support services like Foodshare continues to grow.
“The current space [Foodshare] had at Long Gully they’ve simply outgrown. It’s too small for the size of the operation that they have,” she said.
