Hare-Raising Lunar New Year Celebrations as Bendigo’s Chinese Diaspora Welcome New Zodiac Cycle

Bendigo’s Chinese community says they’re very happy that the weekend’s celebrations of the start of Lunar New Year were a roaring success.
 
The new year marks the end of Year of the Tiger, and the beginning of year of the Rabbit. 
 
The Rabbit, Golden Dragon Museum chief executive Hugo Leschen said, symbolises “caring and attention to detail”.

“It’s generally believed that those born under the sign are more likely to follow rules,” he said. 
 
President of the Bendigo Chinese Association Doug Lougoon told Robbo on the Wake Up Call that there was around 1500 people at the Golden Dragon Museum.

“It was a really well rounded evening and very well appreciated by the public,” Mr Lougoon said.
