Bendigo’s own Golf Star, Lucas Herbert will tee off at Neangar Park’s Pro-Am tomorrow.

The following day, the world number 77 will be at the Axedale Golf Club, chasing his first win in the Symes Motors BMW Axedale Pro-Am.

Herbert just missed the win at the inaugural event in 2019.

One of the favourites at Axedale this week will be local pro Kris Mueck – now working at Neangar. Mueck learned his golf at Axedale and his course record of 59 was set during the 2019 Pro-Am.

Looking to make it two Axedale titles will be previous winner Andrew Kelly, who knows the course well.

Also teeing it up will be a ‘celebrity group’ comprising, Adam White from SEN, Alister Nicholson from Seven Footy, Chris Rogers, Vic cricket coach and former Test opener and General Manager of Victorian Cricket, Graham Manou.

Those four, plus Herbert, will conduct a Q& A session after the event – which should start around 2.30pm.

The day starts at 9.00am with a pro-hole-in-one shootout on the 18th (from a modified tee at 85 metres to increase chances of an ace). Play starts at 10.00am.
