Labor have firmly trumped the Liberals election pitch to redevelop the Bendigo Art Gallery.

Deputy premier, Bendigo East incumbent MP Jacinta Allan and Speaker of legislative assembly, incumbent Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards yesterday announced that a re-elected Andrews government would commit $21 million for the project.
In September, Matt Guy’s Liberals committed $15.5 million for the revamp.
The commitment means the $48 million mega-project will only need federal support to go ahead.

Bendigo council is eager to rebuild the gallery before the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
