New findings from a report by Murray Public Health Network have found that more needs to be done to encourage students to enrol in medicine, so as to fill gaps in regional services.

The study also suggests that a focus should be on enrolling students with wider values and social interests based on family, culture and community.
In addition, the report pointed to other key research that found fewer Medicare services per patient in regional and rural areas as well as less bulk billing.
The report has been published in the same week that Bendigo Primary Care Centre’s decided to ditch its bulk billing.
