Man injured, hospitalised after Lockwood South crash

UPDATE, 12:35pm: Victoria Police has confirmed it is investigating the incident and provided further details.

A truck is believed to have left the Bendigo-Maldon Rd around 7am and crashed into a tree, with the driver and sole occupant suffering serious injuries.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing, with VicPol urging those with further information about the crash to contact Crime Stoppers.

Original Story: Emergency services have attended the scene of a crash on Bendigo-Maldon Rd this morning.

Multiple crews responded to the incident just before 7am, including two CFA trucks and volunteers from the SES Bendigo unit.

A spokesperson for the SES has confirmed with Gold Central Victoria that one person was “mechanically trapped inside a vehicle” and safely extricated, before being transferred into the care of paramedics.

According to Ambulance Victoria, a specialist air ambulance helicopter, as well as Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics assessed and treated one person at the scene.

A male in his 40s was then transported by helicopter to The Alfred in Melbourne.
