Two staff at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre (MYJC) have suffered minor injuries after a fire broke out at the troubled youth facility.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night, with reports that the workers were injured due to smoke inhalation.
It’s unclear what caused the fire at this stage.
It comes following several incidents at MYJC last year.

Namely, when two young men escaped through the roof in July.
The facility houses young offenders aged up to 22 who have received a youth justice custodial order by an adult court in Victoria.
