MP Calls For Board to Be Sacked

 

 

Liberal MP for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell has called for the board of Remembrance Parks Central Victoria to be sacked by the state’s health minister. 

 

It just comes days after the CEO was stood down over the controversy surrounding the removal of the  sentimental momentos from graves stones.

 

Lovell said in a statement that the  “heartless decision” to remove the items means the leadership should be replaced with administrators. 

 

“The honouring of departed loved ones by grieving families is a very emotional issue and a compassionate compassionate cemetery trust would fully engage with families before taking action.” 

 

She called for health minister Mary-Anne Thomas to take “immediate action” and remove the sitting board.
