The cost of fuel has been hovering above 2 dollars a litre since mid-September across Bendigo and continues to rise as a new survey discovers two in five Aussies are driving less due to petrol price hikes.
Noémi Hadnagy from Compare the Market says they’ve found the prices have led 64 percent of all Aussies to change their driving habits.
The Herald Sun also reports thousands of motorists have driven off without paying for their fuel, with the mounting cost of living pressures being cited as a major driver behind a spike in thefts.
New figures from the Crime Statistics Agency, released exclusively to the Herald Sun, have revealed there were 4,109 drive-offs reported across Victoria in the last 12 months to March this year alone.
