A 53-year-old driver of a twin-cab ute has died after it’s believed the vehicle hit a tree on the Maryborough-St Arnaud Road in Rathscar on Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred just after midday, when it’s believed the car veered off the single lane highway.
Police are investigating and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
36 lives have been lost on rural roads this year, up 33 percent on 2022.
