The Bendigo Spirit fought off a late comeback from the UC Capitals in Thursday night’s WNBL action at Red Energy Arena.

The brave victory saw the Spirit win without key players Kelsey Griffin and Tess Lavey, who are both nursing injuries.
 
Reigning MVP Anneli Maley was dominant with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Alongside Maley, Megan McKay scored 20 points and had eight rebounds. 
 
Third-placed Southside Flyers also secured victory on Thursday, meaning Bendigo remains in third place on the table.
