Several cars have been broken into at Bendigo Hospital overnight.
Up to 5 cars, all believed to be owned by Bendigo Health staff, were smashed into while parked on the street outside the hospital.
One of the victims, who discovered the break-in around 10pm Wednesday night, posted to social media stating that they were thankful nothing valuable had been left in their car that was broken into, but that they “couldn’t say the same for the other cars that got broken into.”
The extent of the damage and alleged property loss is still being investigated with police due back on the scene throughout the day.
A spokesperson for Bendigo Health says the organisation absolutely condemns the actions of the offender as it strives to maintain a facility where staff and patients should feel safe.
When asked if the incident would prompt Bendigo Health to review its on-site parking for staff, the spokesperson said an expansion in recent years was built with availability for patients in mind, and that today’s events would not be prompting a review into parking arrangments.
