Strong Winds Warning Prompts Energy Safe Electricity and Gas Safety Advice

Although the wild winds didn’t hit the predicted intensity, Central Victorians are still being urged to take care if conditions get worse.

Up to 30km winds are still forecast for Maryborough and Daylesford. 
 
A couple of power outages are impacting residents in Rochester and Bonn.

Chairperson of Energy Safe Victoria Marnie Willams says it’s also vital people stay far away  from fallen power lines.
 
“Standing near fallen power lines can potentially be fatal,” she said.
 
“If you come across fallen power lines, we would say treat them as live even if they’re broken of damaged.”.

It’s also being advised to use all generators and outdoor heaters outside.
