A Malmsbury cricketing family has made history by fielding three generations of cricketers in the same match.

The Cox family featuring eldest, 74-year-old Adrian, son Matt and teenage granddaughter Nikola, all played in the club’s Jensen Shield hit out with Blackwood over the weekend.
Secretary of the club Matt Cox told Gold it was “pretty special” to have all three of them on the field at once.

He said they tried to recruit a fourth Cox, Matt’s brother, to join them for the match but he was unfortunately not available.
Malmsbury Cricket Club is a historic club, dating back to the Gold Rush period “around 150 years ago”, their website reads.
