Emergency services have responded to a pair of housefires which occurred in Bendigo’s south-east suburbs within hours of each other.
The first occurred on Ellis Street in Flora Hill on Sunday, March 15th, with Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responding to the incident at 12.50pm.
“Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes to find a single storey brick unit well alight,” an FRV spokesperson said.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and make the scene safe, with the incident deemed under control at 1.08pm.
“There were no injuries reported.
“The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and handed to Victoria Police for investigation.”
That incident was followed later in the afternoon by another blaze, this time at a property on Autumn Gully Road in Spring Gully.
Crews arrived just after 4pm, with the situation deemed under control by 6pm.
The fires – which significantly damaged both homes – are not believed to be linked.
