Union Accuses Mine Operator of Industrial Manslaughter

The Australian Workers’ Union is accusing a Ballarat mine operator of industrial manslaughter after a miner died in a horror rockfall.

The union claims he was doing work that shouldn’t have been allowed which caused the collapse.

A mine rescue competition due to start in Bendigo in the coming days has been postponed after a fatality at a Ballarat Gold Mine.

The CFA’s Bendigo-based Oscar One mine rescue team was to due to meet with teams from across Victoria to test their skills.

Oscar One dropped competition preparations to race to the scene of the mine collapse.
