Five protestors who chained themselves together at the Bendigo Rodeo in April this year have avoided convictions.

Each of the vegan protestors, however, were served a $400 dollar fine to be payed to a wildlife charity.
The fine will be accompanied by a six-month good behaviour bond.

According to the group, Vegan Rising, they protested the rodeo because they claim it’s “one of the most blatant forms of animal abuse” in Australia.
They said in a statement that they’re “calling on all state governments to make rodeos illegal”.
