World-Class Aussies Regional Tour a Nod to “Great Talent” in Bendigo

The world’s most elites swimmers will be having a splash in Kangaroo Flat’s Gurri Wanyarra this week as the 36-strong Australian Dolphins arrive in town for a regional training camp.

The Swimming Australia team are training from Wednesday to Saturday ahead of the FINA World Championships (25m) in Melbourne next week.
 
National head coach of the Australian Dolphins Rowan Taylor told Gold that it’s a ode to the passionate swimming community in the region.

“Bendigo’s a great spot for producing some really great talent,” he said. 
 
“With Jenna Strauch from Bendigo, and a number of other athletes have come out of Bendigo, Cam Jordan and Layla Day.”  
 
A series of open training sessions will run Wednesday to Saturday from 7am to 9am, as well as 330pm to 5.30pm.

In addition, on Saturday from 11am to midday, the athletes will sign autographs for fans.
