Dry conditions have greeted Central Victorians today following a period of intense wet weather.
A tropical low and associated trough began crossing the state on Sunday, March 1st, resulting in downpours and for some areas, record-breaking rainfall totals.
Locally, the Bureau of Meteorology’s Bendigo Airport site recorded 74 millimetres, which fell between 1pm Sunday and 2.30pm yesterday (March 2nd).
That figure is more than twice the City’s long-term monthly average for March of 33.4mm.
Redesdale saw slightly more rain, with 74.4mm registered over the same period, while Maryborough had a relatively modest total of 35mm.
Further north, Echuca recorded 109mm over the two days, and Kyabram 101.8mm.
The event saw flash flooding impact multiple Bendigo suburbs, with residents of Huntly forced to wade through ankle-deep water.
No showers are forecast over the coming days, with warm temperatures and sunny days expected in Central Victoria well into next week.
