Central Victorians may be impacted by flash-flooding after copping a weekend deluge.
Parts of the region have seen nearly a month’s worth of rain falling over two days, with 45 millimetres recorded at the Bureau’s weather station in Maryborough since Saturday, August 8th, and the heaviest falls arriving overnight.
The town’s long-term monthly average for August is 56mm.
That downpour was enough to result in a Watch & Act alert being issued for Maryborough and nearby townships to the south and west, including Talbot, Lexton and Avoca.
Meantime, Flood Watch warnings were issued for Creswick and Clunes.
Other weather stations to record huge totals include the Bendigo Airport, which saw 49.8mm fall between 6pm on Saturday and 9am on Monday; and Redesdale, with 42.2mm received over the same period.
The rain is expected to ease this afternoon, with showers forecast over the next couple of days and conditions to become party cloudy by the end of the week.
