An investigation has been launched following the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Bendigo.
The incident occurred at approximately 9pm on Thursday, August 6th in the Civic Gardens near Hargreaves Street.
In a statement to our newsroom, Victoria Police confirmed that detectives from the Central Victoria Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are looking into the matter.

“A 30-year-old man was arrested and has been interviewed in relation to the incident,” a spokesperson said.
“He is expected to be charged on summons.”
