Charges laid after California Gully fire

A man is facing multiple charges following a fire outside a California Gully home.

The blaze is believed to have sparked in Llewellyn Court around 7.05am on Monday, February 9th, with a 60-year-old man taken to hospital for assessment afterward.

A Victoria Police spokesperson has told Gold Central Victoria that the same man has since been charged by Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives with two counts of attempted criminal damage by fire, two counts of making threats to kill, and reckless conduct endangering life.

He’s been remanded and told to appear before the Bendigo Magistrates Court today.

No-one inside the California Gully residence was physically injured during the incident.
