Man to face court over ‘lewd acts’ in Epsom

Police have charged an Epsom resident who’s accused of “performing a string of lewd acts” in Bendigo’s north.

The 49-year-old male was allegedly spotted in the act outside the Epsom Village Shopping Centre on the evening of Thursday, July 30th. Officers arrested him at the scene.

Afterward, a search warrant was executed at the man’s address with detectives seizing electronic devices.

It’s alleged the man is also responsible for performing lewd acts on two separate occasions at the nearby Epsom-Huntly Recreation Reserve, on May 11th and 18th of this year.

On both occasions, children were believed to be present for soccer training.

The man is now facing charges of sexual activity directed at another and sexual exposure, and has been scheduled to face the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on September 10th.

Investigations regarding the matter are continuing, with police urging anyone who witnessed the incidents or has further information to contact Crime Stoppers.
